Reusing ontologies for new purposes, or adapting them to use-cases, is frequently difficult. In our experiences, we have found this be the case several reasons: (i) differing representational granularity in and (ii) lacking conceptual clarity potentially reusable ontologies, (iii) lack difficulty of adherence good modeling principles, (iv) a reuse emphasis process support available ontology engineering tooling. order address these concerns, developed Modular Ontology Modeling (MOMo) methodology, its supporting tooling infrastructure, CoModIDE (the Comprehensive IDE – “commodity”). MOMo builds on established eXtreme Design like it emphasizes modular development design pattern reuse; but crucially adds extensive use graphical schema diagrams, that them, as vehicles knowledge elicitation from experts. paper, present workflow detail, describe useful resources executing it. particular, provide thorough rigorous evaluation role methodology’s paradigm. We find significantly improves approachability such paradigm, displays high usability.
